It’s the eighth annual Alaska Ladies Ride on March 26 in Petersville, and all riders are invited to attend. This event encourages women’s involvement in snowmachining by sharing an exciting and memorable adventure that enhances skills, abilities and confidence. The hope is that women will love and excel in the sport, that they will gain the experience necessary to take them everywhere they want to go, and that they will be properly outfitted with good machines, appropriate gear and get to share great company while in Alaska’s backcountry.
This is the fourth year that the ride is also going to be a fundraising event to support cancer patients in Alaska. They will be partnering with Providence Alaska Foundation again, who will administer the funds raised to benefit the Friends of Providence Cancer Center. In the first three years of this fundraising effort, with the generosity of local businesses, Alaska Ladies Ride was able to raise over $28,400 for The Friends of Providence Cancer Center as well as cover the cost of T-shirts for the riders, goody bags and an annual Meet and Greet dinner and auction.
Any ladies who are interested in joining the ride, or if there is interest in donating to, or sponsoring this fundraising effort, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or go to www.facebook.com/AlaskaLadiesRide.
