Ski-Doo dealer Jerry Schmier of Yellowstone Adventures was recently recognized for more than 50 years of supporting and promoting snowmachining with induction into the International Snowmobile Hall of Fame. Schmier was recognized as a true pioneer in the West Yellowstone, Mont., area, creating a Ski-Doo dealership and motel to serve the Yellowstone National Park area in winter, a model that many followed. He also worked to develop trail systems in the area, key to turning it into one of the premier snowmachine destinations in the world. He also devoted much of his time ensuring snowmachiners could ride within Yellowstone National Park, a fight that has lasted for more than two decades. Schmier is now retired, and his sons have taken over Yellowstone Adventures.
