The Petersville Community Nonprofit Corp. hosts its second annual Fun Run and Easter Egg Hunt at noon, April 1, at the new Search-and-Rescue/Community Building. Registration begins at 10:30 a.m. and the Fun Run starts at noon. The Easter Egg Hunt is on the trail and will be announced the morning of the event. A trail map and checkpoints will be provided, or participants can pick their own trail and be back in time to win. The first-place best poker hand wins $500, second-best hand is worth $250 and third-best hand earns $100.
A winner’s banquet, with burgers and brew for a donation, will be hosted along with a silent auction. Items to be auctioned off include a round-trip voucher to anywhere Alaska Airlines flies; a two-night stay at Gate Creek Cabins; a women’s Ski-doo jacket from Team CC; a two-night stay at Maclaren River Lodge; and a Stihl chainsaw from Moore’s Hardware in Talkeetna.
Proceeds help support groomed trails and the Petersville Search and Rescue. For more information, contact the Petersville Community Nonprofit Corp. at petersvillecommunitynpc@gmail.com.
